Motion by Hall, 2nd by Gonczy for David Hall to form an Exploratory Committee to research the possibility of a new Township Hall, Senior Center and/or Park. Roll Call: Aye; Burek, Gonczy, Ortiz, Hall, Shelby, Adams. Nay: none. Absent: Fuqua-Frey. Motion passed.
To have pride in our community with a sense of rural values with a focus on making the township a better place to live, work and spend time with our neighbors.
To have a community space that supports our residents in a business, social, and economic capacity while still remaining fiscally responsible.
Ability to rent space to public to generate revenue. Ability to meet resident needs such as a coat closet, food pantry and computer access. Ability to provide a place for residents especially seniors and teens to meet for activities, events, needed assistance and social networking.
Provide an office to meet public needs quickly and efficiently with updated technology, areas to meet with residents in private or conduct private phone conversations and is ADA compliant.
Provide a designated space for board meetings, elections and proper, safe storage of records and equipment.
VILLAGE CENTER
This plan envisions the creation of a third Village Center in the vicinity of the Lincoln Schools campus and the Willis/ Whittaker intersection. The Lincoln Village Center is anticipated to accommodate the majority of the residential and other development over the life of this plan. Based on the preferences expressed by the public and Township Officials (previously) this area is also intended to be the future location of the Township Hall, a fire station and possible other municipal civic uses it is intended these facilities, in proximity to the existing Lincoln Schools campus and a concentration of future commercial and residential uses, will create a distinct and genuine center of town.
