Native Plant Expo & Marketplace
Got Milkweed? Get Yours for Free at the Native Plant Expo & Marketplace
Saturday June 7st 2025, 9am – 1pm, Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds!
The 6th annual Native Plant Expo & Marketplace is a FREE one stop shop for native plants and conservation education. It is hosted by the Washtenaw County Conservation District on Saturday June 7st from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd, with partners Adapt Community Supported Ecology, Adapt Landscapes, Huron River Watershed Council, Master Rain Gardener Program, Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum, Natural Community Services, River Raisin Watershed Council, Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s Office, and Wright’s Renovations. The Expo features native plant sales from Michigan based nurseries; a speakers’ series covering topics like native landscaping and habitat restoration; and a variety of vendors offering services in design, installation, and maintenance of native plant landscapes, pollinator resources, locally made products, and much more!
Entry is free for all and includes two free potted milkweed plants- perfect for supporting Monarch butterfly habitat, while supplies last. Hundreds of native plant varieties will be available for purchase including perennials, grasses, shrubs, trees, fruits, and seeds for landscapes of all sizes and growing conditions.
Native plants are vital to health ecosystems. They are adapted to Michigan’s soils and climate, requiring less water and maintenance. They increase biodiversity by providing food and habitat for our native animals, birds, and pollinators. In addition to supporting biodiversity, native plants help protect water quality, reduce erosion and flooding, and restore degraded soil and landscapes.
